Faulconbridge panorama

New Year's day 2003, 1:30pm, looking north. We had heavy rain overnight and it's still raining this afternoon.
These panoramas were taken from the office window.

Compared to the first panorama, I've zoomed in here to remove the distracting house roof.
A tripod would obviously be sensible so that the pictures are properly aligned.

I took a bit more care with the alignment of the individual pictures for this one.

How are they done?

I can't take much of the credit for the technical side of things. We have a Canon PowerShot A30 Digital Camera, and with it came a proprietary software called PhotoStitch. It's extremely easy to use: just select a series of photos to merge, choose the order, and the software does the rest. Then I shrink the resulting images using ImageMagick to fit onto the web site.
