Jim's preflight briefing consisted of saying, "What do you need me for?" when he walked into the office. My spirits lifted as I realised that I could now just walk out to an aircraft and fly it away.
So I did. And this time it all went very smoothly, including the landing. I flew three circuits, and each touchdown was smoother than the last. I definitely have a soft spot for Romeo Romeo Whisky.
